Product Overview

Black Anodized Aluminum Tie Rod or Steering Arm for Racing Karts

Metric Thread 8mm x 1.25mm - Standard and Reverse Threaded

Hex Size - 13mm

M8 x length kart tie rods from Extra Kart Parts. These tie rods are our most popular choice for tie rods at the track!

Overview

Manufactured out of high-grade aluminum for strength and lightness, these anodized tie rods are built to last for your kart, regardless of size or length required!

Each tie rod is threaded with reverse Left-Hand threading on one end, and right-hand threading on the other end to allow for expansion and contraction of the tie rod to adjust your toe adjustment sweep. The thread pitch is M8 x 1.25 which fits most European tie rod ends (heims)

The knurled hex dimensions of the tie rod further strengthen the rod, and also accomodate a 13mm open-end wrench perfectly.

Each tie rod is sold separately. Measure the length of your tie rods required prior to ordering!

Selecting Your Tie Rod Lengths

Typical tie rod lengths and sizes are outlined below. Note that every kart brand, model, and type is a little different - we wanted to give you a few tips for what is likely on your kart:

Full-Size Sprint Kart Chassis: Typically tie rod lengths are between 250-275mm. Most karts do not have the steering column right in the center of the chassis, usually the split is 5mm from side to side (right side is a longer tie rod).

Cadet or 'Mini' Chassis: Typical tie rod lengths will be between 220-255mm for most cadet or Mini chassis. Most karts do not have the steering column right in the center of the chassis, usually the split is 5mm from side to side (right side is a longer tie rod).

Kid Kart of 'Puffo' Chassis: Typically tie rod lengths will be between 195 - 220mm for Kid Kart chassis. Most Kid Kart chassis do not feature an offset on the tie rod lengths, but do check yours!
